United to win: Netherlands unveils 2027 defense budget with over €3 bln for Ukraine

Background
As Rubryka reported, Ukraine's ambassador to the Netherlands, Andrii Kostin, called on the Dutch government to provide 2 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. The funding is needed to purchase air defense missiles and manufacture interceptor drones.
The Netherlands has previously brought forward aid spending earmarked for later periods. This summer, Defense Minister Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius announced the allocation of 437 million euros from such funds.
This summer, the Dutch government also pledged to purchase drones and air defense equipment for Ukraine, allocating 580 million euros for the purpose. The country plans to spend 250 million euros on drones from Dutch defense companies. It will spend the remaining funds through PURL, an initiative to supply Ukraine with American weapons.
