12-year-old Zakarpattia strongman sets record, lifting a 32-kilogram kettlebell one-handed 21 times
Vasyl comes from the village of Kliachanovo in the Zakarpattia region. At just 12, he already holds several Ukrainian and world records, as well as the unofficial title of "World's strongest child."
His love of strength training emerged in early childhood. He weighed 4.6 kilograms at birth and was already running around the house with a six-kilogram kettlebell at the age of one. By six, Vasyl could lift it 100 times.
The young athlete set his first Ukrainian record at eight. He pressed a 33-kilogram barbell 15 times.
The following year, Vasyl set a world record by throwing a 16-kilogram kettlebell 20 times in 44 seconds. At 10, he added another world record to his achievements, lifting a 24-kilogram kettlebell 15 times.
Daily training and family support underpin his athletic achievements. Vasyl's father coaches him and developed the training program for his children himself. His older brother is a Ukrainian arm-wrestling champion, while his younger sister is just starting out in sports.
Despite his impressive achievements in strength sports, Vasyl remains an ordinary 12-year-old schoolboy. He does well at school, loves football, trains in combat sambo, and dreams of making Ukraine famous worldwide.
On the stage of "Ukraine's Got Talent" 2026, the young strongman decided to demonstrate his physical fitness and attempt a new record. Vasyl lifted a 32-kilogram kettlebell with one hand 21 times.
The organizers noted that no child anywhere in the world had previously recorded such a result.
Vasyl's performance also impressed judge Artem Pyvovarov. After the act, he addressed the young athlete's family:
