Solidarity Run in Ottawa raises over $14,000 for Ukrainian military medics
The initiative brought together:
Direct donations during the run and related activities generated 7,701 CAD (around 5,580 US dollars). The Toronto-based Ranok running club contributed an additional 1,500 CAD (around 1,087 US dollars).
The Latvian Relief Society of Canada also joined the drive, contributing another 6,993 CAD (5,064 US dollars).
Organizers will channel the collected funds through the Ukrainian World Congress initiatives Unite With Ukraine and Fight Like a Ukrainian. The aid goes directly to Ukrainian military medics saving the lives of Ukraine's defenders every day.
Organizers emphasized that the Solidarity Run was more than a sporting event, serving as a vital symbol of unity between the Ukrainian and Latvian communities and reflecting broader Canadian support for Ukraine.

Organizers also expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian Catholic Church for its hospitality, as well as the volunteers and teams from Ottawa's Ukrainian and Latvian communities who coordinated the event.
As previously reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Ukrainian World Congress signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. Supporting Ukraine's European integration and advocating for its accelerated accession to the European Union serve as key pillars of this partnership.
In late August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with representatives of the Ukrainian World Congress to discuss steps to strengthen global support for Ukraine.
