Sculptures inspired by Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko unveiled at URC 2026 in Gdańsk

The sculptures were created in 2025 at the invitation of the nonprofit Ukraine WOW in partnership with the Prymachenko Family Foundation. Their presentation at URC 2026 was made possible with support from Bolt.

A QR code next to the installation linked visitors to an audio guide about Maria Prymachenko. The Ukrainian version was narrated by the artist's great-granddaughter, Anastasiia Prymachenko, while the CHIAOZZA duo voiced the English version.

At URC 2026, Ukraine's Ministry of Culture paired the artistic tribute to Maria Prymachenko with a presentation by the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Foundation on plans to restore the Ivankiv Historical and Local History Museum, where many of Prymachenko's works were once housed.

The museum was one of the first cultural sites destroyed by Russia at the start of its full-scale invasion. It is also set to become one of the first to be rebuilt.
