Zelenskyi: Ukrainian drones again strike Russia's Dubna satellite communications center
According to Zelenskyi, the site plays an important military role for Russia.
The facility is located more than 500 kilometers from Ukraine's border.
Zelenskyi said this was not the first strike on Russia's communications infrastructure.
According to the president, Ukraine's Defense Forces have previously reached four similar Russian communications centers. Those strikes targeted facilities not only in the Moscow region but also in the Vladimir region.
He added that Ukraine is preparing similar actions against other Russian facilities of this kind.
As previously reported, Russian authorities said the country came under a massive drone attack overnight on June 30. According to Russia's defense ministry, air defenses allegedly downed 419 drones over 19 regions. Explosions were reported in the Moscow region and Novorossiysk, while temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports.
In Dubna, residents reported at least two explosions. According to the Ukrainian OSINT project Exilenova+, the Dubna Space Communications Center — one of Russia's major satellite ground stations — may have been attacked again.
Ukraine's Defense Forces hit the Dubna Space Communications Center in Russia's Moscow region on the night of June 22, damaging equipment used for satellite communications and network control.
On June 21, President Zelenskyi also said that Ukraine's new Fire Point drones had already hit targets at distances of up to 2,070 kilometers. He added that Ukrainian drones would soon be capable of striking targets as far as 3,000 kilometers away.
