If Russia returns to full-scale warfare, Ukraine will respond symmetrically, — Zelenskyy

Ukraine refrained for two days from long-range strikes in response to the absence of large-scale Russian attacks. If Russia decides to return to full-scale warfare, Ukraine will respond in kind, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address, UATV English reports.

“It is positive that, as of now, there have been no massive attacks today — no missile or air strikes. However, in frontline areas and communities near the front, there has been no calm. Russian forces continue their assault activity on key directions. There is shelling and various types of drone strikes at the front. Over yesterday and today, there have already been more than 150 assault actions, over a hundred shellings, and nearly ten thousand kamikaze drone strikes,” he noted.

According to the head of state, the Russian army is not observing silence at the front and is not even attempting to do so.

“All our Ukrainian units are acting symmetrically and defending our positions as required. As for our long-range actions — yesterday and today Ukraine refrained from them in response to the absence of large-scale Russian attacks,” he stressed.

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine will continue to respond symmetrically, and “if the Russians decide to return to full-scale warfare, our response will be immediate and impactful.”

“Distance is becoming less and less significant — we have demonstrated this with our long-range capabilities. Ukraine always acts clearly and honestly in this regard,” he emphasized.

As reported, Russian forces have carried out 60 attacks on the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces since the beginning of the day, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk direction.
