This latest commitment builds on the 25 million euros Ireland pledged in February for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, bringing Ireland's total assistance for Ukraine this year to 65 million euros.
According to the Irish Foreign Ministry, this is the largest amount Ireland has provided to Ukraine for humanitarian and development aid since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022. For comparison, Ireland allocated 35 million euros to Ukraine in 2025.

Background
Additionally, Ireland will provide 2 million euros in aid to Moldova to help the country cope with the impact of the war in Ukraine.
This commitment follows recent European support for Ukraine, including the Team Europe initiative's delivery of vehicles, generators, and construction equipment to Ukrzaliznytsia, and the EU's separate allocation of 80 million euros in funding from proceeds on frozen Russian assets.
