"We are in a very good position, but it is unfair to other parts of the world, such as China. That is, we are doing this for other parts of the world, including China. They receive a lot of oil through the straits," Trump said.
The American president also suggested that some of the sanctions may not be renewed.
In addition, Trump announced the expansion of energy cooperation with Venezuela, calling it a new partner in oil and gas supply.

During the press conference, Trump fielded questions about his earlier phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Trump, the Russian leader offered assistance in addressing the situation involving Iran.
At the same time, the White House chief noted that a significant part of the conversation focused on the war in Ukraine. He characterized it as a protracted conflict and reiterated that there is strong tension between the Russian leader and the president of Ukraine.
Commenting on Putin's offer to help with the Iranian issue, Trump replied that the Russian leader could be more useful in ending the war against Ukraine.
"I said, you would be more useful if you helped end the war in Ukraine. That would be useful. But the conversation was good," the US president said.
