This is reported by public broadcaster LRT with reference to representatives of the military department.According to them, special engineering structures are being installed on the bridges, allowing to fix explosives if necessary. Specific objects and access roads are being selected taking into account the peculiarities of the terrain and their importance for the country's defense system.The Defense Ministry also said that several dozen storage sites for engineering barriers, including anti-tank ones, have already been set up in border areas. In addition, work is underway to deepen irrigation canals, which can be used as additional defensive lines. The measures are being carried out as part of the Baltic Defense Line project, the Baltic States decided to create it in early 2024. The aim of the project is to strengthen NATO's eastern border and prepare for possible military threats. In the summer of 2025, Lithuania also installed anti-tank barriers at a number of border points with Belarus. It was also reported earlier that Lithuania officially withdrew from the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines.
