For reference:
On May 4, during a trip to the Czech Republic, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the creation of a Ukrainian-Czech F-16 school outside Ukraine within the framework of an aviation coalition.
Also, on May 7, Romania and the Netherlands planned to create a joint center for training Ukrainian technical personnel for F-16 fighters. It will be at the Feteşti air base, where the European F-16 Pilot Training Center (EFTC) is located.
The F-16 training center in Feteşti was opened in November 2023 as part of Kyiv's allies' efforts to train Ukrainian pilots on Western-style fighters.
In addition, 200 Ukrainian pilots have already completed basic flight, ground, and language training in the UK before training on F-16 fighters. Royal Air Force instructors taught the pilots general aircraft control, instrument flight, low-altitude navigation, and complex formation flying.
In 2024, the Czech Republic also handed over the first F-16 combat aircraft simulator to one of the Ukrainian tactical aviation brigades.
