According to the publication, such a missile was destroyed on approach to Kyiv from the southeast. Its wreckage was found near Boryspil. It is noted that the enemy uses this type of cruise missiles to distract Air Defence Forces, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. "Several sources also reported the russians started to disguise their Kh-101 missiles by wiping off the serial numbers on the missile body with an angle grinder so that it is impossible to identify the approximate date of manufacture. The thing is that the serial number contains information about the year, quarter, series, and the number of an individual missile in this series," the report says. The edition explains that this made it possible to assess the pace and order of missile use. At the same time, it is already known that the russians began using Kh-101s produced in the last quarters of 2022. "Moreover, this kind of disguise can prevent only quick identification of fragments, since all internal assemblies and components of the missile also have their own serial numbers, and it is quite difficult to wipe them away without dismantling the entire missile at a factory," the statement reads.
