A former paratrooper near Kharkіv organized sabotage in the rear of the invaders

At night, he twisted warheads from Russian cartridges, removed batteries from heavy equipment, poured diesel fuel and stole documentation, Channel 5 reports. The Russians throughout the village were looking for a whole partisan detachment, but in fact it consisted of a single pensioner. Vasily is a former paratrooper and Chernobyl survivor. Together with his wife, he lives in Kharkov, but at the time of the Russian invasion, the spouses were at a dacha in the suburbs, from where the invaders subsequently beat, among other things, their house in Severnaya Saltovka. You lie at night, do not sleep and think - it whimpers. And my heart aches for Kharkov, for my son, for all of us. And then I realized - you need to remove the batteries. I started stealing these batteries,” the man says. Batteries weighing 50 kg, each pensioner removed at night - just stole a dozen. Once I found a truck "Ural" with cartridges - warheads lay separately. I was able to drag 48 pieces on a sleeping bag. I hid them in the yard toilet at one of the dachas - I waited for our military to liberate the settlement and neutralize the ammunition. Also, the man managed to neutralize the enemy fuel truck, which the Russians placed near his house - he ruined the hose. On the third day after the liberation of the village, Vasily and his dog Malva went to the field to see if the dead Ukrainian soldiers had been taken away. It turned out that the bodies were mined - the man's leg was torn off. The man was not taken aback - he pulled his leg with a dog leash and crawled through a minefield to the highway, where our military picked him up. According to the surgeon who operated on the man, the burn from the explosion stopped the bleeding - so the man did not bleed. The man's condition is now stable. One of these days he will be sent for rehabilitation to Lvov, and then to Germany. I understand that it's scary, but I'm proud of it, - says Vasily's wife Natalia.
