Families of Ukrainian soldiers rally in Paris to highlight captives and missing troops

During the rally, families of Defenders reminded the public that Russian aggression continues beyond the battlefield. They drew attention to:

Participants also spoke about thousands of Ukrainian families who have lived for years without any news of their loved ones.

Family representatives of soldiers from the 115th Brigade declared they will not stop fighting to return every defender home, restore justice, and hold Russia accountable.

During the rally, they urged the international community to continue supporting Ukraine and to respond decisively to Russian war crimes.

Background

It is worth mentioning that on August 24, Ukraine returned ten service members from captivity via Belarus. This marked a special stage of exchange conducted under bilateral agreements. All liberated service members defended Ukraine in the Donetsk direction. Before their return, authorities listed them as missing in action. Two soldiers had been missing since 2024, and eight others since 2025.

Additionally, Russia previously confirmed the locations of 79 Ukrainian service members listed as missing in action under special circumstances.

Furthermore, about 40 coordinators and representatives from associations of families of captives and missing troops agreed to establish a joint working group. It will serve as a platform for regular communication, practical knowledge sharing, and joint advocacy on issues affecting families.

As Rubryka reported, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense launched regular meetings with coordinators representing families of fallen, missing, and captive service members. This format aims to maintain a direct dialogue with families to gather key issues and develop solutions.
