Russian guided bomb strike on Kharkiv kills three and injures nearly 30
According to the mayor, Russian forces launched at least three guided aerial bombs at the Slobidskyi district. The impacts sparked a fire in warehouses and damaged residential buildings.
Rescuers feared people remained trapped under the rubble of one damaged building, prompting search and rescue operations at the scene.
Initially, Terekhov reported one fatality.
"Information indicates one dead. Ten others are injured at this minute," he wrote.
Later, the mayor updated the tally, stating that two people had died in the Slobidskyi district.
Additionally, Russian forces attacked a gas station in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district with a combat drone.
Later, at 3:33 p.m., the head of Kharkiv added that reports confirmed 25 injured and two dead.
By 3:55 p.m., the number of injured people had grown to 29.
"As of now, we have 29 injured, including three children. One victim is a street sweeper," Terekhov specified.
Background
As reported, on the evening of October 4, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with Banderol drones, killing one person and injuring six others. The strike damaged about ten apartment buildings, cars, and an administrative building, with a police officer among the injured.
Furthermore, Russian forces launched a massive attack on industrial and port infrastructure as well as summer houses in the Odesa region, causing large-scale fires. Firefighters extinguished all blazes, and inspections revealed no hazardous substances or casualties.
Russian forces also attacked Mykolaiv with Banderol loitering munitions, damaging warehouses and vehicles, while injuring a 58-year-old man. The region also faced attacks from Shahed strike UAVs and FPV drones, though no additional casualties occurred.
Additionally, a Russian drone struck an energy infrastructure facility in the Poltava region yesterday. The attack temporarily left about 22,000 customers without electricity, with preliminary reports indicating no casualties.
