"Every Russian drone can be stopped": Zelenskyi calls for stronger sanctions over foreign components in Russian UAVs
According to Zelenskyi, Russian forces also struck high-rise residential buildings in Kramatorsk and Sumy.
Additionally, heavy shelling was targeted at the Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Poltava, and Rivne regions.
As of now, four people are reported injured as a result of the overnight Russian attack. Emergency and specialized services are working in all affected locations.
The president separately highlighted the role of foreign components in the manufacturing of Russian weapons. According to him, while Moscow attempts to localize the production of drones and missiles as much as possible, it cannot fully break its dependence on foreign supply chains.
He emphasized that the opportunity to disrupt the use of these components exists at the initial stages of weapon production.
"What is needed is political will from these countries. If the Kremlin chooses more strikes, sanctions must work and be tightened. Thank you to everyone who helps," Zelenskyi added.
As reported, on the night of October 2, Russian troops attacked Kyiv, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. In the Darnytskyi district, a strike on a 25-story residential building was recorded, while in the Holosiivskyi district, debris damaged a non-residential building and vehicles.
Furthermore, around 5:00 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that Russian forces struck the Pivdennyi Bridge for the third time. Following the attack, public transport was suspended across the Pivdennyi, Paton, and Metro Bridges in the capital. Public transport routes were rerouted via the Darnytskyi Bridge.
Russian troops also attacked four districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 30 times, injuring four people in Pavlohrad. The strikes damaged an administrative building, an enterprise, a hotel, residential homes, and vehicles, causing fires in both Pavlohrad and Dnipro.
