United to win: Vienna hosts "5 for Lithuania" charity run in support of Ukraine

During the event, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Ukraine in Austria, Oleksandr Irkhin, thanked the people of Lithuania for their unwavering support for Ukraine and for the assistance the country has provided since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
The run in Vienna became part of the annual international initiative "5 for Lithuania," which the World Lithuanian Youth Association has organized since 2013. Under this initiative, Lithuanian communities worldwide take to the track to unite around shared values.

Organizers fully dedicated this year's action to freedom and support for Ukraine. The Embassy of Lithuania and the Lithuanian community in Austria organized the event in Vienna.
Background
Lviv hosted the PROBIG Charity Run, a sporting event dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the PROBIG Club public organization. More than 300 participants joined the race, supporting a fundraiser for the Ukrainian military. They raised 180,000 hryvnias out of the planned 200,000 hryvnias.
Canada's capital, Ottawa, also hosted the Solidarity Run in support of Ukraine, raising more than 14,000 CAD (about 10,400 US dollars). Organizers will direct the funds to assist Ukrainian military medics, having more than doubled the symbolic fundraising goal.
Additionally, Mukachevo hosted the Mukachevo Half Marathon on September 19, a charity half marathon that brought together about 800 participants from various regions of Ukraine, including military personnel with disabilities.
