United to win: UK charity auction to sell damaged Kramatorsk flag to support Ukraine's armed forces
As the Kramatorsk City Council emphasized, this initiative aims to turn damage inflicted on the Ukrainian flag by Russian strikes into an opportunity to secure weaponry for fighting the aggressor.
The city council noted that Oleksandr Honcharenko, head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration, recently handed over the damaged banner to fighters of the 39th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion. The flag sustained damage on the eve of Ukraine's National Flag Day.

The initiative involves the flag that once flew on the main flagpole of the Donetsk region in Kramatorsk. According to the city council, it stands as one of the largest banners of its kind in Ukraine.
Volunteers from the "Birds of Victory" charity project and Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, support the initiative launched by fighters of the 39th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion.
Organizers plan to put the art objects crafted from the damaged flag up for auction at a charity event in the United Kingdom. Proceeds from their sale will go toward procuring unmanned systems for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Background
As previously reported, a charity auction took place in Kyiv to support special units of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine under the Ministry of Defense. Lots featured a modern reprint of the 1581 Ostroh Bible, signed by Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine; a Ukrainian flag, signed by Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov; and a gold medal from the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, belonging to Hanna Rizatdinova.
Reports also noted that an auction in New York saw a Ukrainian flag from Bakhmut and a flag from the Hostomel community in the Kyiv region sell for 500,000 US dollars.
Additionally, an American couple purchased a Ukrainian flag signed by Eurovision winners at an auction, submitting the highest bid of 9,200 hryvnias (222 US dollars) before doubling the amount following their win.
