Three Ukrainian women rank among world’s top 10 high jumpers
She has 1,378 points, just five more than Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who has 1,375.
Yuliia Levchenko ranks third with 1,334 points. In early August, the Ukrainian resumed competition after a knee injury and immediately returned to the fight among the discipline's leaders.
Another Ukrainian athlete, Iryna Herashchenko, ranks seventh. Last season, she did not compete because of pregnancy, so she did not earn ranking points and dropped out of the top 10.
In early 2026, Herashchenko returned to competition after maternity leave. Since then, the Ukrainian has taken part in 11 events and reached the podium nine times.
Her second-place finish at the Diamond League meeting in Silesia, Poland, played an important role in her return to the top 10. There, Herashchenko cleared 1.98 meters and won silver. Within a week, the Ukrainian rose in the ranking from 11th to seventh.

The last time three Ukrainian high jumpers were simultaneously in the world ranking's top 10 was in September 2025. At that time, Mahuchikh ranked second, Herashchenko seventh, and Levchenko ninth.
The world ranking plays a key role in qualification for the 2027 World Athletics Ultimate Championship, which will be held for the first time this year. Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Nicola Olyslagers have already secured early places as Olympic and world champions, respectively.
Eight high jumpers in total will qualify for the tournament. At the moment, all three Ukrainians are in the qualification zone through the ranking.
At the same time, the next update of the world list will be decisive for athletes seeking qualification. It will determine the six other high jumpers who will receive the opportunity to compete at the world championship.
The World Athletics Ultimate Championship will take place in Budapest on September 11-13.
