Zelenskyi meets participants of Will to Live sports competition
Together with the participants, the president played table tennis, lifted a barbell, and shot a bow.
The director of the institution hosting the competition informed the head of state about the development of sports in the region and the veteran community's involvement in this movement for physical and psychological rehabilitation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke with the athletes and signed the battle flags of their brigades. Artist Vasyl Semko presented the head of state with a wooden panel depicting Saint Nicholas as a military chaplain, symbolizing goodness during war. The artist created the panel after taking part in the defense of Avdiivka as a member of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Cornet Marko Bezruchko.
Background
On August 12, Kyiv's Expocenter of Ukraine, known as VDNH, hosted the third annual Run for Freedom, an advocacy race calling for the release of Ukrainian military personnel and civilians from Russian captivity. Participants ran distances of 1, 5, or 10 kilometers.
Historian, Yale University professor, and UNITED24 ambassador Timothy Snyder joined the start in Kyiv for the third time.
He ran alongside service members, male and female veterans, Ukrainians released from captivity, families of prisoners and missing persons, KSE students and graduates, professional runners, and anyone who wanted to support the initiative.
