Third Army Corps commander: Ukraine can beat Russia through military effectiveness

Journalist and influencer Laura Loomer, who is close to US President Donald Trump, asked Biletskyi to address Americans who believe the United States should not support Ukraine in the war against Russia.

Ukraine has a chance to defeat Russia," the Third Army Corps commander said.

The Third Army Corps currently holds more than 150 kilometers of the front in the Lyman-Borova direction, where units from three Russian armies operate simultaneously. According to Biletskyi, the corps' experience proves that effectiveness, not numbers, is the decisive factor in modern warfare.

He said that when the corps took over its area of responsibility, Ukrainian troops on that section were losing dozens of square kilometers of territory every month. Nine months ago, they managed to stop the enemy's advance completely. Ukrainian units now not only hold their positions but also reclaim lost territory in some areas.

Biletskyi named three key factors that made this result possible:

"We are now the largest corps in terms of the use of unmanned systems, both aerial and ground-based. But effectiveness depends not only on the number of pilots or drones, but above all on the system of command and planning," he stressed.

At the same time, Biletskyi urged the American audience to view support for Ukraine as an investment in their own security.

Background

Andrii Biletskyi is a brigadier general of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the founder and first commander of the Azov Regiment. In 2014, he commanded the liberation of Mariupol, and in 2015, the Shyrokyne offensive operation.

On the eve of the full-scale invasion, he organized the nationwide civil defense campaign "Do not panic! Prepare!" After the start of the full-scale war, he created the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, which later became the basis of the Third Army Corps.

Since March 2025, Andrii Biletskyi has commanded the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is responsible for one of the most difficult sections of the front: more than 150 kilometers in the Lyman-Borova direction, or about 12% of the entire line of contact.

It is worth recalling that the commander of the Third Army Corps, Andrii Biletskyi, previously said that the return of about 200,000 service members who had gone absent without leave could radically change the situation at the front and make it possible to suspend mobilization temporarily.
