Russia hits US company Terminal Autonomy plant during massive attack on Kyiv – The Guardian

According to a source familiar with the company's operations, Terminal Autonomy produces high-precision drones for "deep strikes."

They are equipped with guidance systems resistant to the impact of Russian electronic warfare systems.

The Guardian said the company's drones use artificial intelligency. According to the publication, at the final stage of flight, after electronic warfare or mobile signals are suppressed, an AI system takes over control of the drone.

According to state registry data, Terminal Autonomy was registered in Delaware in 2023. The company's official website says:

The publication also said that, at the time of publication, neither Terminal Autonomy nor Ukraine's Ministry of Defense had responded to The Guardian's requests for comment.

According to the outlet's source familiar with the situation at the company, no one was killed in the Russian attack.

Background

It should be noted that on July 28, Reuters reported that the Pentagon acknowledges that the United States lags significantly behind Ukraine in drone production.

As reported, Ukraine and the United States signed a statement of intent in July that lays the groundwork for an unprecedented defense partnership. The document also provides for the possibility of exporting Ukrainian drones to the United States for military testing.

Ukrainian defense company General Chereshnia also advanced to the second stage of the US Drone Dominance Program, run by the US Department of Defense.

In addition, Ukrainian company UFORCE, the manufacturer of Magura naval drones, and US company ReconCraft signed a memorandum of understanding on drone production in the United States. The sides plan to jointly produce hundreds, and later thousands, of naval drones at facilities in Oregon and South Carolina.

As reported, on the night of July 30, Russian troops attacked Kyiv with missiles and drones. The strikes killed one person and injured two others. Fires broke out in the city's Obolonskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts, and civilian infrastructure was damaged.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia launched a combined strike using attack drones, as well as air-, ground- and sea-launched missiles of various types. In total, the enemy launched 358 aerial targets, of which air defense forces neutralized 320.
