Ukrainian high jumper Oleh Doroshchuk tops world rankings with season-best jump
"Before the competition, I was thinking about 2.33 m — to achieve the world-leading mark. It was a bit difficult during the competition, but once I found my rhythm and got my take-off right, I focused on 2.33 m," Doroshchuk told Suspilne Sport.
With this result, Ukrainian high jumpers now hold both world-leading marks of the 2026 season: Doroshchuk leads the men's rankings, while Yaroslava Mahuchikh has held the women's world-leading mark of 2.03 m since January.
Mahuchikh achieved that result in Ukraine at her first competition of the season, the Demianiuk Memorial in Lviv.
