According to the network, the 30-year-old soldier was killed in a Russian drone attack.

Journalist David Muir said Oseredchuk was more than a colleague to many at ABC News — he was a friend.

Oseredchuk is survived by his wife, Kateryna, and their young daughter, Mariia.

Last year, Anton Bondarenko, a fixer for French broadcasters TF1 and LCI, was killed on the front line. From the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, he helped foreign journalists work in Ukraine before later joining the country's defense. He was 26.

As Rubryka reported, France's National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) opened a war crimes investigation into the death of French photojournalist Antoni Lallican, who was killed in a Russian drone attack in Ukraine.

Lallikan was working in Ukraine as an independent photojournalist. He was killed while reporting near the front line when a Russian FPV drone struck his position. His colleague, Kyiv Independent journalist and photographer Hryhorii Ivanchenko, was wounded.

Earlier, on October 25, 2025, Ukrainian service member, journalist, and Ligamedia employee Vadym Pidlypenskyi was killed during a combat mission on the front line.
