Margot Robbie's Updo Looks Like the Most Delicious Pastry

I love a Margot Robbie press run. Obviously Barbie and the clever red carpet homages to the world's most famous doll is the standout example, but Robbie has a knack for looking simple yet impactful no matter which film she's promoting. Case in point: her gorgeous updo from the A Big Bold Beautiful Journey premiere in London, crafted with a circular shape that looks good enough to eat.
For the premiere, Robbie paired a sheer, crystalline Armani Privé gown with a soft, romantic updo that spotlighted the dramatic jeweled gown. Her dark blonde hair was wrapped and pinned in a layered, circular shape reminiscent of French pastries like the suprême croissant, a.k.a. the round version of the classic croissant. It's so pretty, you really need the full 360-degree view to appreciate all the little details—like the soft strands wrapped around the base and left unpinned to create a delicately fluid movement, or the intricate layers of hair placed atop each other.
Robbie's sophisticated upstyle was the work of frequent collaborator Bryce Scarlett; Scarlett was also behind Robbie's Barbie hairstyles, like the crimped ode to Earring Magic Barbie. According to Scarlett, the updo is actually part French twist. To create the updo, Scarlett first parted Robbie's hair in the center, leaving out a portion on each side and pulling the back section into a twist. He then swept those left-out side pieces up and back, pinning them to the top of the twist in a circular pattern and securing the sculptural style with Kérastase Laque Couture Hair Spray.
An updo will always be a classic choice for a red carpet event, but you don't have to attend movie premieres and awards galas to wear your hair in a similar fashion! Robbie's French twist updo would be a lovely choice for a bride, while a sky-high style like Cardi B's would be fun for a holiday party. For something sleek and chic, there's always Hailey Bieber's current fave, a knotted ballerina bun. Updos for everyone!
