The July Allure Beauty Box Brings You Easy Summer Beauty At Its Finest

By the middle of July, I might be feeling hot and sweaty—but you’d never know it, thanks to the products in our latest Allure Beauty Box. There’s a Benefit primer to prevent makeup from melting off and a Haus Labs cream blush for a happy, radiant (not sticky) flush. Plus, my hair’s tendency to frizz is kept in check by Paul Mitchell’s hair oil and leave-in treatment, and I’m switching to moisturizers that deliver hydration without feeling heavy (Hi, Tatcha!). Fresh, dewy skin; glowing, rosy cheeks; and hair with no frizz? Yes, please! This is my kind of summer beauty routine!
Unbox It:
Why you’ll love it: This clear gel mask feels so good on skin. It’s cooling to the touch and soothing, a welcome addition to any routine this time of year, when cold winter temperatures and indoor heat can wreak havoc on skin. Spiked with hyaluronic acid and glycerin, it’s also incredibly hydrating. “A very thin coat feels calming on my dry, irritated skin,” says Allure’s Jesa Marie Calaor, “and it quickly hydrates thirsty patches, like at the tops of my cheeks.”
How you’ll use it: Smooth on the mask, and let it sit for 30 minutes or overnight— it’s comfortable to sleep in. It’s so comfortable we even like to wear it in place of moisturizer on days when skin is feeling like it could use a little extra hydration.
Why you’ll love it: Everything about this cream blush is fun, and each adorable, colorful stick is a joy to pull out of your makeup bag and tap onto cheeks. Its radiant finish makes glowing skin a cinch, and the sheer summery flush livens up your whole look. Basically, it’s that youthful glow we’re all chasing, but in a tube. You got to choose your favorite shade to receive in your box.
How you’ll use it: No need for brushes here! Just dot the stick onto your cheeks and blend with your fingertips. It can be nice to apply it to the apples and then blend using small downward strokes to mimic the shape of a natural flush.
Why you’ll love it: Like a soft-focus filter for your face, this primer has a blurring effect that’s very welcome if you’re looking to hide pores. A tiny bit is enough to help make skin look more even, with less noticeable pores, and it’s got a velvety texture so your makeup can wear more smoothly on top.
How you’ll use it: Squeeze out a small dollop (you probably don’t even need a pea-size amount) and smooth it on with your fingers, like an artist would prime their canvas—but instead of watercolors you’re putting makeup on next, which is much more fun! You can use it on top of skin care, like your new Tatcha moisturizer, and wherever you’d like to minimize lines or pores, spreading it across your cheeks, around your nose, and over your chin.
Why you’ll love it: Summer isn’t always kind to hair when things like humidity and time in the sun can cause frizz and dullness (fun!). These coddling treatments help get your hair looking frizz-free and shiny with minimal effort. Now that actually is fun!
How you’ll use it: Both are leave-in products to be applied to the length of damp hair. You can also use the oil as a touch-up on dry hair.
Why you’ll love it: Can the chemists at Tatcha read minds? Everything we look for in a summertime moisturizer is in this little pot: The bouncy cream is hydrating but not heavy (ideal for muggy days) and has a luminous finish that makes skin look fresh and radiant.
How you’ll use it: Smooth it over clean skin for a quick shot of hydration and a dewy glow.
Why you’ll love it: If you’ve got a pimple, these have got you covered, literally and figuratively. Pop one on a breakout overnight or during the day and let the hydrocolloid patch do its zit-shrinking thing.
How you’ll use it: Affix one patch over a pimple and remove it about six to eight hours later (it’s easy to remember because the patch turns white when it’s time to take it off).
Why you’ll love it: Washing your face doesn’t have to be boring. This gel cleanser feels soothing going on, and the smell is reminiscent of marzipan—not a bad way to start or end the day!
How you’ll use it: Smooth it over your skin, and rinse—bonus points if you massage it into your skin for about a minute before splashing your face clean.
