“I Asked Trump 3-4 Times To Lift Starshield Restrictions So We Could Attack Russian Ballistic Launch Systems” — Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Trump several times expanding the possibilities of using the Starshield system to strike Russian ballistic missile launch systems.
He shared this in an interview with PBS News, UATV English relays.
“We raised this issue with the president [Trump, ed.] several times — I think four. I had three or four meetings devoted specifically to this topic.
I told the president: ‘Listen, you’ll never have enough Patriot missiles to supply both the Middle East and us.’ We knew he’d be supplying them to the Middle East, and he continues to do so now.
And I said: ‘There’s only one solution — give us access to Starshield, and we’ll be able to block their ballistic missile launchers. This would help a great deal in protecting civilians and saving lives,'” the head of state explained.
According to Zelenskyy, Trump said he’d try.
“It doesn’t depend on him. He said it mostly depends on the company SpaceX. He assured me he supports this idea. And I was very grateful to him.
I said that if they lift the restrictions, we’ll use this capability — we’ll only use Starshield on Russian territory to detect the locations of ballistic missile launch systems. In other words, it’s exclusively about striking the launch systems.
I emphasized that this is about targeted actions by our military. That’s the whole point — about how we can protect ourselves,” he added.
