Lviv opens new prosthetics center for wounded troops and civilians

It will provide modern prostheses, training, physical rehabilitation, and support to help patients return to everyday life, Rubryka reports, citing the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

The need for prosthetics and rehabilitation remains high. Patients face long waits for prostheses, and rehabilitation centers lack capacity. More specialized facilities will help expand access to care and cut waiting times.

GARTA is the third center in the network, following facilities in Ternopil and Vinnytsia. Its team has been fitting military personnel with prostheses since 2014.

The center will provide end-to-end care, from selecting and making prostheses to teaching patients how to use them, providing physical rehabilitation, and helping them return to everyday life.

The center will offer comprehensive care, from prosthetic fitting and training to physical rehabilitation and social reintegration.

Kozytskyi said GARTA would add capacity to the region's existing rehabilitation network, including Superhumans and UNBROKEN, which help people recover from severe injuries.

"I want GARTA to become another place of strength in the Lviv region. Everyone who comes here should receive expert care, personal attention, support, and the chance to live as independently as possible," Kozytskyi said.

Forward-Orto LLC covered the full cost of renovating, equipping, and setting up the center.
