Ukraine unveils Chomga drone that can carry three attack drones or aerial interceptors

A company representative discussed the drone's capabilities with the outlet Oboronka during IRON HALLOWEEN PARTY 2026.

The Chomga's key feature is its modular design, which lets operators configure it for different missions:

As a bomber, the Chomga can carry up to 15 kilograms of payload and return to base from a distance of up to 60 kilometers. In its one-way attack configuration, it has a range of 100–125 kilometers.

The drone can stay airborne for up to 90 minutes, reach speeds of 110 kilometers per hour, and fly at altitudes of up to 1,500 meters. It needs a runway up to 50 meters long to take off and land.

Operators can control the drone via the company's SkyLoki analog system, designed to resist electronic warfare, or via a Starlink satellite terminal.

For long-range signal relay, the developers have also built a tethered balloon that can stay airborne for up to 10 hours. They are also developing a lighter version, the Light Chomga, which can carry up to 5 kilograms and has a range of up to 80 kilometers.

The developers say crews can repair the drone in the field using basic tools.

"Our new Chomga is a fixed-wing drone designed as a basic platform for different tactical missions. The aircraft is now fully flight-ready. It's also built for easy field repairs. All you need is a power screwdriver, a regular screwdriver, and a rivet gun," a Ukrspetsdronprom representative said.

The company is now working with military units to get the Chomga into combat trials. Meanwhile, the SkyLoki communication modules have already been tested for resistance to electronic warfare systems in cooperation with units of Ukraine's 10th Army Corps.

In related news, two Polish defense companies have agreed to work together to prepare for the production of Ukraine's 155mm Bohdana wheeled self-propelled howitzers and to provide maintenance and repairs.

Ukrainian forces have also completed a major operation to protect Kyiv from Russian jet-powered drones that can be controlled remotely. They deployed an electronic warfare system across the city to disrupt the drones' mesh communications.
