Russian strikes hit energy facilities in seven regions in Ukraine: dozens injured
Explosions were heard overnight in Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions, among others. Several regions reported damage.
Dnipro, central Ukraine, was one of the hardest-hit cities. Russian strikes damaged a medical facility, a residential neighborhood, a police station, and a four-story apartment building.
A thermal power plant was also hit.
Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, initially reported that five people were injured. Two older men were in serious condition in hospital.
The number of injured later rose to 15.
"Three men are in critical condition," Hanzha said.
The threat of further strikes has made rescue work more difficult. Emergency crews remain at the damaged sites, searching for people trapped under the rubble.
Hanzha later confirmed that one person had been killed and 17 injured. Rescuers were trying to recover the victim's body from the debris.
Rescuers later pulled a woman alive from the rubble.
"She is alive. Doctors are giving her the care she needs," Hanzha said.
In Kharkiv, a frontline city in northeastern Ukraine, a Russian missile hit the passageway connecting two hospital buildings. At least 73 people were injured, according to the latest report. They included patients, medical staff, and residents of nearby buildings.
The blast damaged the hospital's facade and interior and shattered its windows. Another medical facility and a laboratory were also damaged. Windows in 10 apartment buildings were blown out, and 13 cars were damaged.
The strikes also disrupted heating and hot water supplies in parts of Kharkiv.
Russian forces struck infrastructure facilities in Ukraine's central Vinnytsia region, leaving many communities without electricity.
"No casualties have been reported so far. Emergency crews are working to repair the damage and restore the facilities," regional head Natalia Zabolotna said.
The regional power company, Vinnytsiaoblenergo, introduced scheduled power cuts. Trolleybus services were also partially suspended in Vinnytsia.
A Russian strike hit an energy facility in Ukraine's northwestern Zhytomyr region.
"As of the morning of November 3, around 130 communities — more than 180,000 households — were without electricity. No one was killed or injured," regional head Vitalii Bunechko said.
Energy workers are working to restore power across the region.
In Shepetivka district in the western Khmelnytskyi region, Russian drones hit an apartment building. The strikes damaged its roof and two apartments.
"The attack damaged the roof and two apartments in the building. Two cars and windows in an apartment building across the street were also damaged," regional leader Serhii Tiurin said.
No fire broke out, and no one was injured or killed.
A Russian strike damaged a Ukrenergo substation in Ukraine's western Rivne region, the regional administration reported.
Russian forces also struck an energy facility of the DTEK energy company in the southern Odesa region.
"The damage is extensive, and repairs will take time. Our crews began work as soon as it was safe, aiming to restore power to homes as quickly as possible," DTEK said.
The latest attacks came a day after Russian forces struck Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region. The death toll there has risen to 29. Five people were injured, and 48 remain missing. Two emergency workers and four police officers were among those killed.
