"I sincerely thank President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan for the substantial assistance Azerbaijan consistently provides to Ukraine's energy sector. This new shipment of energy equipment is a significant contribution by our partners to Ukraine's energy resilience and support for the people ahead of the fifth winter of the war,"said Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has received 159 humanitarian shipments of equipment from Azerbaijan, weighing more than 2,432.4 tonnes in total, through the Ministry of Energy's logistics hubs. The shipments have included power transformers, transformer substations, generators, electrical cables, and other critically needed equipment.
Earlier, Rubryka reported that Ukraine and Azerbaijan were discussing expanding the exchange of expertise in humanitarian demining, particularly in urban areas. This experience is important for Ukraine's ongoing demining efforts and the recovery of de-occupied settlements.
Ukraine and Azerbaijan are also expanding cooperation in recovery, investment, and construction.
