Zelenskyy Shares His Vision Of Ukraine’s Victory

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is confident in Ukraine’s victory, which means preserving independence, Ukrainian identity, and the European choice.

Ukraine’s president said this in an interview with NBC News, UATV English reports.

“Preserving the country, independence, the European and geopolitical choice, all our rights and Ukrainian identity — I believe that is victory. That’s exactly what we need to achieve,” Zelenskyy stated, expressing confidence in victory since “truth is on our side.”

He noted that during a prolonged war, people’s attitudes toward victory and the sense that Ukraine is winning can shift.

According to the president, Ukrainians are tired of the war due to constant Russian shelling. And it’s precisely halting strikes on energy infrastructure that could become a first step toward ending the war.

“That doesn’t mean it’s good only for us. It’s good for the situation overall, for ending the war. If we genuinely want to start moving toward ending this war, this is the first step,” he said.

At the same time, the head of state noted that the overall situation on the battlefield remains stable, and Russia cannot win through purely military means.

Zelenskyy called on the US to help Ukraine protect its energy infrastructure, in particular by providing Patriot missiles.

He also called for lifting restrictions on the use of Starlink satellite communications. The president emphasized that Ukraine will continue defending itself regardless, but doesn’t understand the reasons for limiting its ability to defend itself.

“Why limit our ability to defend ourselves? I can’t understand this. I believe it’s a mistake,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that ending the war requires strong leaders capable of forcing Putin to move toward diplomacy.

As earlier reported, on October 18, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a phone call with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, discussed the results of talks between the Ukrainian and American teams in Florida and further diplomatic steps.
