Rutte: Zelenskyy to attend Ramstein meeting

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will attend the upcoming meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format).

Speaking ahead of a meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels on 18 June, Rutte said that Zelenskyy had arrived in Belgium.

Rutte said that he had had the honour of hosting Zelenskyy at his residence on the evening of 17 June.

At the Ramstein meeting on 15 April, Rutte said that NATO members will provide Ukraine with US$60 billion in military support in 2026, excluding funds from the EU's €90 billion loan package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that during the Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting, several countries announced new contributions to the PURL scheme, under which NATO members and other partners purchase US weapons for Ukraine.
