The initiative brought together all territorial communities across the Chernivtsi region, as well as contributors from other regions of Ukraine and members of the Ukrainian diaspora worldwide.

The exhibition opening drew the head of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Osypenko, his deputy, representatives of regional and city councils, civil society organizations, and enthusiasts of folk art.

The project is the joint effort of the Chernivtsi regional branch of the NGO "Zakhyst Derzhavy" (Defense of the State), the public organization "Vyshyvanyi Dyvotvir," and the civic group "Stal" (Steel).

Organizers intend to develop the initiative further. They have already submitted an application for a national record for the "largest collection of ornamental chevron talismans for defenders, created by Ukrainian craftswomen."

BackgroundPreviously, women from the Ternopil region embroidered a Borshchiv-style shirt for "Azovstal" defender Kateryna Polishchuk, known by the call sign Birdie.

In other news, Ukraine recently unveiled a military vyshyvanka called "Oberih" (Talisman), featuring a unique ornament symbolizing the defense lines of Ukraine's armed forces. A Ukrainian company produced the design.

It is also noteworthy that Prince Harry keeps a display with chevrons from Ukrainian defense force units in his office, a gift from Ukrainian veterans during the 2025 Invictus Games.
