Russian forces attack Kyiv three times overnight, injuring five and damaging bridge, homes and kindergarten

The first attack involving ballistic missiles took place on the evening of November 6. At around 1 a.m., Russian forces launched a second strike. According to Klitschko, infrastructure facilities in the outskirts of Kyiv were targeted.

At approximately 3 a.m., explosions were heard in the capital again.

The attack also had consequences in Kyiv region: a Russian drone destroyed a private house in Bohdanivka. Rescuers pulled a man from the rubble.

"A married couple were trapped under the rubble. The woman, born in 1960, managed to get out on her own, while her husband, born in 1951, was quickly freed from the debris and rescued by State Emergency Service personnel. Both sustained injuries. The fire has been extinguished," the State Emergency Service said.

Consequences of the attack in the Solomianskyi district

According to rescuers, buildings were destroyed and damaged at several addresses across the district.

In particular, the facade on the first floor of a five-storey residential building was partially destroyed. There was no fire or injuries at the site. The blast wave also shattered windows in three other five-storey buildings.

A two-storey building on the grounds of a kindergarten was also damaged.

At another location, a truck and a non-residential building caught fire. Emergency services extinguished the blaze.

Initially, three people were reported injured. One person was wounded near a building with shattered windows, while two others were injured at different locations. One of them was a child.

At 7:10 a.m., Klitschko уточнив that the number of people injured in the capital had risen to five.

"Five people were injured in the capital as a result of the enemy attack, including a 14-year-old child. Two of the injured were hospitalized," the post said.

What is known about the damage to the Pivnichnyi Bridge

The mayor also reported that the overnight attack had damaged the Pivnichnyi Bridge, one of the crossings over the Dnipro River in Kyiv.

Klitschko added that traffic on the bridge had been suspended in both directions. Specialists are currently inspecting the structure to determine the extent of the damage.

The Kyiv City State Administration also clarified that traffic had been temporarily suspended on:

As a reminder, this is not the first attack on the bridge. On the morning of October 3, Russian forces attacked the Pivnichnyi Bridge with a strike drone. The attack damaged the bridge's roadway and the trolleybus overhead power lines. On October 4, two people were injured in a Russian strike on the Pivnichnyi Bridge in Kyiv. One was hospitalised, while the other received medical assistance at the scene.

On November 6, Rubryka also reported that Kyiv was currently facing the most difficult situation with electricity and water supplies. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi attributed this not only to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure but also to the city authorities' failure to implement decisions on preparing the capital for the heating season.

It is worth noting that, as of November 5, Russia had carried out 78 strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure over the previous three days. Changes in the tactics and intensity of the attacks have put not only power plants but also electricity transmission facilities at risk, making it more difficult to restore the energy system.
