Malta joins Ukraine's Energy Support Fund with a €50,000 contribution
Malta contributed €50,000. As of today, the Fund has received approximately €2.408 billion in grant funding from 41 foreign donors representing 27 partner countries and three international organizations.
Equipment and materials purchased with international partners' support through the Ukraine Energy Support Fund help energy workers quickly restore damaged facilities, strengthen the resilience of the energy system, and prepare it for the winter season.
What is known about the Ukraine Energy Support Fund
The Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF) was established in spring 2022 in coordination with the European Commission and Ukraine's Ministry of Energy to address the consequences of Russian attacks targeting critical energy infrastructure.
The Fund is an effective tool that enables governments, international financial institutions, international organizations, and corporate donors to provide financial support for Ukraine's energy sector as it works to repair the damage and ensure uninterrupted operations.
Contributions to the Fund are used to finance the most urgent needs of Ukrainian energy companies, including equipment, spare parts, and other technical resources, as well as fuel and services required to restore infrastructure and ensure electricity and heat supplies across Ukraine.
