Ukrainian boxer Usyk addresses Montenegro forum and holds charity auction

Montenegro Prime Minister Milojko Spajić also joined the visit. He publicly thanked the Ukrainian athlete for visiting the country and for his warm words about Montenegro, calling Usyk a symbol of an indomitable spirit.
At the same time, the Ukrainian champion's trip had not only an official aspect but also a strong social and charitable component.
As part of the forum, the Usyk Foundation held a special auction. The lots included:
Organizers will direct the funds raised during the auction toward aiding those affected by the war in Ukraine.
A visit to the Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro formed a separate part of the trip. There, Usyk met with Ukrainian diplomats, volunteers, and children forced to move abroad due to the full-scale war.
During the meeting, the champion answered children's questions, discussed his life journey, and shared personal stories. Usyk also signed autographs and took memorable photos with those present.
According to conference organizers, during the visit, the boxer also promised to return to Montenegro in the future.
Background
It should be noted that Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk vacated the World Boxing Organization (WBO) heavyweight world champion belt. Usyk became the WBO world champion in September 2021 after securing his first victory over Anthony Joshua.
The Ukrainian defended his title five times: defeating Joshua in their rematch, and securing two victories each over Daniel Dubois and Tyson Fury.
Having lost the status of undisputed world champion, Usyk retains the primary heavyweight titles of three other organizations — WBA, WBC, and IBF. The Ukrainian reclaimed the latter belt following a fifth-round knockout of Dubois during their July fight in London.
On May 24, 2026, Ukrainian heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk defeated Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven by technical knockout in the 11th round. Publications highlight that Usyk's net worth is all the more impressive given that he fought only eight times in the heavyweight division during his professional career.
The 38-year-old Usyk holds a professional record of 24 victories (15 by knockout) in 24 fights.
