Ukraine's air defense shoots down all cruise missiles despite Russia changing tactics
"We report the results of the interception of missiles specifically. There were results today. Unfortunately, not as many as we would have liked. We would like to shoot down more, if we had more means, namely more missiles for the Patriot systems. As you can see, there were ballistic missiles shot down today as well. In fact, all the cruise missiles were shot down. These were Kalibr missiles, and there were also Banderol missiles intercepted, as well as a large number of drones. The interception rate remains high, despite the fact that the enemy changed its tactics today and is using many jet-powered UAVs," Ihnat said.
He noted that many ballistic missiles do not reach their targets.
The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reminded that the Ukrainian Air Force provides information on air threats online around the clock.
We remind you that in the early hours of September 1, Russian forces launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine, using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as 218 attack drones and decoy drones. The main targets were the Kyiv and Odesa regions. Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized five ballistic missiles, five Kalibr missiles, two Banderol missiles, and 187 drone.
