President Zelenskyi and first lady meet veterans and Superhumans rehabilitation center graduates at Reunion festival in Odesa
"I'm often asked – by foreign journalists and by our partners – how Ukraine does it. How, despite all strikes and all the horrible pain, Ukrainians can keep going, refuse to give up, and remain so resilient. One of the answers is you and your example – what you've been through, your attitude toward life, your stories, which truly inspire and show what a person is capable of when they refuse to surrender to circumstances – and when they have people beside them who will always stand by them," the president said.
Zelenskyi stressed that it is essential to support everyone recovering from injuries through the combined efforts of the state, international partners, local communities, businesses, and fellow service members. The President thanked everyone involved in the rehabilitation of wounded military personnel and civilians, including Superhumans, which now operates rehabilitation centers in Lviv, Dnipro, and Odesa.
"All of this together is a great story of the fight for life. A fight in which the refusal to surrender prevails. And in our super country, we have our super humans. Those who refuse to give up. Who overcome. Who reclaim their life – and swim across the Atlantic and the Bosphorus, conquer mountain peaks, build veteran-owned businesses, win Dancing with the Stars, run marathons, start families and become parents – and teach the next generation that Ukrainians are strong," Zelenskyi said.
The Reunion festival is the largest annual family and veterans' gathering organized by the Superhumans community. This year, it brought together around 1,000 Superhumans graduates, along with their families, friends, partners, and the center's team. The festival featured children's and family zones, themed spaces, sports and creative activities, a canine-assisted therapy area, workshops, interactive experiences, and dedicated spaces for relaxation and socializing. Veteran-owned businesses were also showcased during the event.
A dedicated space at the festival was devoted to "How Are You?", the nationwide mental health program initiated by Olena Zelenska, who also serves on the Superhumans supervisory board. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about mental health, available support services, and practical tools and techniques for maintaining their emotional well-being.
Earlier, on 4 July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi paid a working visit to the Odesa region. During the trip, he held a meeting with the Command of the Ukrainian Navy to discuss regional security issues.
Zelenskyi also met with Navy personnel and announced the creation of a new mine countermeasures brigade as well as the establishment of a Naval Academy in Odesa. During the visit, the President signed a decree officially establishing the Naval Academy in the city.
