Ukraine presents Druzhba oil pipeline repair plan to EU representative

Naftogaz, Ukraine's largest state-owned oil and gas company, has announced that it has briefed the EU deputy ambassador to Ukraine on a plan to repair the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskyi stressed that the Naftogaz Group appreciates the EU's offer of funding and technical support to rebuild infrastructure at the Brody pumping station in line with the highest European engineering and safety standards and with a view to countering further terrorist attacks.

"Together with EU Deputy Ambassador Gediminas Navickas, we met with the technical working group. Alongside the management of Ukrtransnafta, we provided our partners with detailed information on the consequences of the Russian attack on the Druzhba pipeline infrastructure," Koretskyi reported on Facebook.

He added that a comprehensive repair plan was also presented to the EU representative and that together they had outlined the next joint steps.

On 17 March, it was reported that Ukraine had accepted the EU's offer of funding and technical support to help restore oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline.

In a letter to EU leaders, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised to restore oil flows via the Druzhba pipeline in approximately one and a half months.
