Unit commander Oleg Shiryaev said that even knife-fighting experts had previously seen this weapon only in illustrations."We really thought that a knife that also shoots is a Soviet legend. But when we took it as a trophy, we were convinced: such a copy exists," Shiryaev said.The Special Reconnaissance Knife (SRK) was created in the 1970s at the Tula Weapons Factory by order of the Ministry of Defense and the KGB of the USSR. It is a unique development that combines a cold weapon and a built-in firing mechanism for a special SP-3 cartridge.NRS is equipped with a quality blade with a saw blade for cutting metal bars up to 1 cm thick. However, the main thing about it is its ability to stealthily engage a target at a distance of up to 25 meters. The combat knife has a single-shot device with a sight inside the handle, which allows to make a silent shot in an emergency.After the appearance of the silent pistol PSS in the USSR in the 1980s, this knife served as a basis for the creation of the NRS-2 - a later modification for the powerful SP-4 cartridge.This is the first time when Ukrainian fighters received such a trophy at the front. The shooting knife has become a symbol of how Russia continues to send to war weapons created for Soviet special services.
