Blocking at border concerns only trucks and agricultural products - Polish Foreign Ministry head

This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in an interview with The Kyiv Independent.

"Military and humanitarian aid, including gasoline and diesel fuel, which feed the Ukrainian economy, pass through the Polish border unimpeded," the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry noted.

Sikorski emphasized that the Polish government cannot use violence against farmers.

"This process arose as a result of an extraordinary act of solidarity with Ukraine, when the Black Sea was blocked and Ukraine could not export its grain through the Bosphorus to Africa and China. We said: "Okay, we will not make concessions to putin. We open the border, let the grain go through the EU." Unfortunately, two-thirds of the grain that was supposed to transit through the EU remained in Poland. So what? You can imagine what Polish farmers think about this. Second, you won the battle for the Western Black Sea. I congratulate you. How does Poland see it? And you may not like it. This means that this extraordinary act of solidarity is coming to an end because the emergency in the Black Sea is over and we need serious negotiations. Under what conditions? Ukrainian agriculture can be integrated with the rest of the EU. And it will take several years, just as it took several years for us," said the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland noted that Ukraine received temporary access to the European market without negotiations and without the need to comply with all European norms.

"Polish farmers cannot use some fertilizers that are used by Ukrainian farmers," Radoslaw Sikorski explained.

Among other things, in a conversation with the newspaper's journalist, Sikorski said that Polish and Ukrainian diplomats are working together all over the world to counter disinformation, but efforts in the global South have not yielded results yet.

"I instructed all Polish ambassadors to work side by side with their Ukrainian colleagues around the world to counter disinformation. But we have not yet succeeded in the global South, as you know," said the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.

According to him, the Polish ambassadors turned to their Ukrainian colleagues and offered help in proving that it was a colonial invasion.

"The countries of the global South should understand this as such, and therefore sympathize with the victims of colonial aggression. And I know that in some places this work has been active, but in some places it has clearly failed, and one of those places, and I am very sorry about that is to say, there is the Vatican, where the Polish and Ukrainian ambassadors cooperated closely. And yet, we know that some statements from the Holy See were not useful," Radoslaw Sikorski said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Poland may transfer to Ukraine its stocks of Soviet missiles for air defense systems.
