Super League: Hull KR star Mikey Lewis banned for four games after headbutt, late tackle vs Warrington Wolves
Hull KR star Mikey Lewis has been served with a four-game ban for a late tackle and a headbutt in a 34-12 defeat against Warrington Wolves on Saturday.
Lewis was sin-binned for a tackle on Ewan Irwin during the match, but the scrum-half also appeared to have headbutted Warrington's Adam Holroyd in an incident that was missed by match officials.
The Match Review Panel announced on Monday that it has handed Lewis a one-game ban for a Grade C late-contact penalty for the tackle, while also retrospectively banning him for three extra games for the Grade E-listed headbutt.
The ban comes after the reigning champions dropped out of the playoff places with their latest defeat, sitting two points behind St Helens Saints with eight games to go in the Super League season.
The Rovers star is now set to miss the Hull derby, as well as fixtures against Bradford Bulls, Castleford Tigers, and Catalans Dragons.
