Children from five continents set national record with online poetry marathon celebrating the Ukrainian language

The event was organized by CVIT, an international online school of Ukrainian language and culture. A total of 115 children from 30 countries took part, reciting poems celebrating the beauty, strength, and uniqueness of the Ukrainian language.

"The Ukrainian language brought together children living around the world. Some left Ukraine after Russia's full-scale invasion, while others were born abroad. For each of them, the language remains a connection to Ukraine," the statement said.

The program combined classic poetry, including "Native Language, Native Word" by Sydir Vorobkevych and "An Admonition" by Ivan Malkovych, with original poems written by Ukrainian-language teachers for children living abroad.
