Rubio: Russia-Ukraine War Will End Through Negotiations And An Agreement
The war between Russia and Ukraine will ultimately end through negotiations and an agreement, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, UATV English reports.
Russia must end its war of aggression and come to the negotiating table, Rubio said, noting that there is currently no peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
The secretary of state expressed hope that an agreement can eventually be reached, with a ceasefire potentially serving as the first step.
“We are prepared to play a constructive role in facilitating such a limited ceasefire. By itself, it would not mean the end of the war. At the same time, it could be the first step toward broader agreements,” Rubio said.
According to Rubio, the war will not be decided on the battlefield but through negotiations and a final agreement.
“We all want this war between Russia and Ukraine to end. It will not end on the battlefield. It will end through negotiations and the signing of an agreement. And the sooner we reach such an agreement, the less destruction there will be and the fewer people will die,” he stressed.
