"We'll be talking about that now": Trump discusses potential launch of Patriot missile production in Ukraine with Zelenskyi

He also emphasized that Ukraine possesses "very capable" manufacturing capabilities and "very capable" people.
It is worth noting that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi also stated that negotiations with US President Donald Trump in New York included the issue of granting Ukraine licenses to manufacture interceptor missiles for Patriot systems.
Background
On July 13, during a speech in Paris at a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, Zelenskyi confirmed that he and President Trump reached a major agreement regarding licenses for Patriot system production. According to him, the agreement is historic.
On July 22, Volodymyr Zelenskyi revealed that Ukraine and the United States had already begun discussions on joint production of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense missile systems.
Later, US President Donald Trump noted that the United States had not yet given final approval to transfer a license to Ukraine to produce interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems. However, earlier reports had indicated his potential support for such a decision.
On September 2, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington and Kyiv continue negotiations on granting Kyiv a license to localize the production of missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
