Russia attacks Kyiv with drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, killing people and injuring dozens

The massive attack began on the evening of Wednesday, July 1. The enemy launched dozens of attack drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as Zircon missiles, toward Kyiv.

The Kyiv City Military Administration warned that Russian attack drones were approaching Kyiv from several directions simultaneously and that the attack could unfold in multiple waves.

Later, in addition to drones, Russian troops launched ballistic missiles and Zircon missiles at the capital from different directions. Cruise missiles fired by strategic aircraft later joined the attack.

Tymur Tkachenko described the scale of destruction as "very serious." Fires broke out in several districts of the capital, damaging civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

According to Vitalii Klychko, falling debris near one residential building trapped people inside one of the apartments.

Klychko said one of the damaged facilities was an emergency medical care substation. Five medical workers were injured in the attack. One paramedic is in extremely serious condition.

Emergency services continue to collect information and work at the strike sites.

As of the time the information was published, 10 people were known to have been killed in the Russian attack.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the number of injured has risen to 56.

According to Kalashnyk, emergency services continue to clear the rubble. Work is ongoing, and information about possible victims is being clarified.

It should be noted that the day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that, according to intelligence, Russia may be preparing another massive strike. In this connection, he urged Ukrainians to pay special attention to air raid alerts and to use shelters without fail.

The head of state cut short his visit to Ireland and returned to Ukraine.
