Ukrainian ports move 40 mln tons of cargo despite Russian attacks, including 20 mln tons of grain
Since the beginning of the year alone, Russia has launched more than 1,500 attack drones at Ukrainian ports. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian attacks have damaged or destroyed 966 port infrastructure facilities and more than 200 civilian vessels. Overall, 257 civilians have been killed or injured in attacks on Ukrainian ports.
Despite these losses, Ukraine's maritime sector continues to operate. The Ukrainian Maritime Corridor keeps Ukrainian exports flowing to dozens of countries and helps keep global supply chains moving.
The 40-million-ton milestone reflects the work of port crews, sailors, logistics teams, businesses, the military, and international partners who keep Ukraine's ports operating every day despite the war, the ministry added.
