Russia attacks Odesa region ports overnight, leaving dead and injured
According to him, Russia continues to deliberately strike civilian and port infrastructure in the region.
"The enemy continues to launch attacks on civilian and port infrastructure in Odesa region," he said.
According to the head of the regional administration, Oleh Kiper, the strike killed two people — a 38-year-old man and a woman of the same age.
Five others were injured: women aged 64 and 72, as well as men aged 29, 56, and 69.
He said that in the Odesa district, Russian drones hit three residential buildings, while two more were damaged.
In addition to the residential sector, port infrastructure was also targeted, with buildings and equipment sustaining damage.
"Fires that broke out have now been extinguished by rescuers. All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences.
Law enforcement agencies are documenting yet another war crime committed by the Russian army against civilians in the Odesa region," the regional military administration said.
Russia's attack on May 3
On the night of May 3, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack across Ukraine, using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 268 strike drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down most of the drones.
At the same time, authorities recorded strikes from the ballistic missile and 19 attack drones across 15 locations, as well as debris from downed targets falling in one additional area.
The evening before, on May 2, explosions were also heard in Kyiv, where air defense systems were active during another Russian drone attack.
Earlier on May 3, Russian troops struck a company vehicle in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. One man was killed, and four others were injured — a 63-year-old woman and men aged 48, 61, and 55.
In addition, Russian forces launched overnight drone strikes on Mykolaiv region, targeting energy infrastructure. Partial power outages were reported in several settlements, with restoration efforts ongoing.
The Dnipropetrovsk region, particularly the Nikopol area, also came under sustained attack. Since the evening, Russian troops have launched more than ten drone strikes on the district.
Earlier, on May 2, Russia launched 227 drones at Ukraine between morning and 18:00, 200 of which were destroyed by air defense systems.
