Coventry 0-1 Fulham: Oscar Bobb's moment of magic makes it back-to-back wins for Alvaro Arbeloa's side
A late moment of magic from Oscar Bobb secured a narrow 1-0 win for Fulham at Coventry to make it back-to-back Premier League wins for Alvaro Arbeloa's side.
The game looked set for a stalemate until the Norway playmaker danced into the box and curled a shot into the far corner in the 80th minute, breaking the deadlock in what had been a frustrating fixture for the visitors.
Fulham had looked the more likely side to take the lead after Josh King crashed his effort off the post in the first half and will also feel the win is justified given the decision to not award a penalty for Brandon Thomas-Asante's shirt pull on Calvin Bassey before the break.
The Fulham defender pushed Thomas-Asante to create space before he was then dragged to the ground by the Coventry forward. VAR checked the incident extensively before it was then cleared.
Former referee Mike Dean said on Sky Sports: "He's run the risk by holding onto his shirt. As the ball came in, Bassey pushed the Coventry player away from him to make it look like he'd pulled his shirt. The foul is by Bassey first."
Coventry had their own controversy as time ticked down when the ball struck the arm of Shea Charles in the box from Jack Rudoni's cross but the incident was quickly checked and cleared.
The victory moves Fulham out of the relegation zone and up to 12th, while Coventry remain in 19th after eight games.

Fulham matchwinner Oscar Bobb speaking to Sky Sports
"Even in the games we have lost or drawn. We have shown very good football. It's great to see us have a bit of luck.
"Yeah [turning point]. We have had that belief throughout. Wins are essential; it feels like a turning point.
"It's been a long time coming. Thankfully today, in front of the away fans [it happened]. An amazing feeling and amazing to get back-to-back wins.
"I am very happy to see how happy they are for me. It is even better when we get the win."
Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa speaking to Sky Sports:
"I'm so happy. Again, a very good game for us in a difficult stadium against a tough team. Another clean sheet. I think we competed really well, tried to play our football and did well. We scored our goal and controlled the game. We had the ball, and I think we did really well in the last 10 minutes.
"This is what we want: run, press, play our football and win games.
"We need goals from Oscar Bobb, Josh King and Gonzalo Garcia. They are young players and, obviously, as a coach, it could be easier to sign players with experience. Last season, Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez were there - players with 300 or 500 games in their legs and in their heads. Everything is easier when you have that experience.
"But these players are young and have the talent. I trust them because I think they are the present and the future of Fulham. I'm so happy and pleased with this young talent.
"We are working so hard every day. We are a team that needs to give our best every day. We started preparing for this game at the beginning of the week, so we don't start playing the game now.
"It's really important to get every player in this squad involved. Everybody is so important, and you saw the players coming off the bench do really well. I'm so happy with everybody, and this is the way we have to play."
Coventry City boss Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports:
"They are a good team and there was not much in it with limited chances.
"They didn't open us up and neither did we for them. We lost the game on a moment of quality.
"There is always things you can try and do but the quality of the finish is good.
"That is the story of this league. The gap is what it is. Games like this come along. We want to win but if you can't, don't lose them.
"We were off our usual selves. We have to try and turn that."
Sky Sports' Patrick Rowe
"Oscar Bobb said the victory felt like a turning point for Fulham and he could be right.
"The performance wasn't pretty at the CBS Arena but Alvaro Arbeloa's side did enough to get over the line.
"Fulham have now moved up into 12th and the pressure that had been plaguing the team every time they stepped out on the pitch has now been lifted.
"Back-to-back wins were duly needed given Aston Villa, Newcastle and Manchester City make up their next three fixtures in the league.
"If they hadn't beaten both Hull and Coventry to distance themselves from the bottom three, Fulham could have been in deep danger heading into the busy Christmas schedule.
"For now, they have breathing room and freedom to build on what has been a very positive week in West London."
