DP World Tour: BMW PGA Championship gets new date for 2027 due to Ryder Cup as significant schedule changes announced

The DP World Tour has announced a new date for the 2027 BMW PGA Championship, as it unveiled a series of big schedule changes for next year's calendar.

The tour also confirmed the return of three national opens, a significant step in its plans to grow, with DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings confirming the series will now host 17 national opens across the 2027 season.

After a seven-year absence, the Hong Kong Open will return to the DP World Tour calendar, and the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open has also been added back to the schedule.

Meanwhile, the tour has also confirmed the Open de Portugal | Cascais-Lisboa will return to the calendar.

The DP World Tour has also made a series of adjustments to its Closing Swing and Back 9, with the 2027 Ryder Cup to take place at Adare Manor between September 17 and 19.

The BMW PGA Championship will now be pushed back to September 23-26, a week later than its usual spot in the second week of the month to accommodate the biennial tournament.

The Amgen Irish Open, which was held in the first week of September in 2026, will be played at The K Club between July 1-4.

It is set to be an exciting year for the DP World Tour, which will host 42 tournaments in 24 different countries as part of the Race to Dubai season points race.

DP World Tour CEO Kinnings said: "The return of historic national Opens in Singapore and Portugal means 17 prestigious national Opens will feature on our 2027 global schedule, along with other popular international championships and events played around the world.

"As Golf's Global Tour, we are proud to provide this unique platform for our members to showcase their talents as they compete to put their own name alongside some of the iconic champions of our sport. It is a schedule that offers incredible international opportunities for existing and new players and one which will appeal to our fans globally."
